It was a simple idea -  "What if we could take the knowledge of simple and sustainable water technologies and teach teams traveling to developing nations to construct these Water Projects? What if the teams that traveled could be equipped to teach and train local people to construct these projects? What could happen if these local people could then begin to teach others in their own nations?"

Over the past several months our teams have provided over 3000 people with clean drinking water in Haiti, Rwanda, Uganda, Togo and Cambodia. We just received reports last week that three more Rain Catchment Tanks have gone up in Haiti.....The Ripple Effect is working.

Over the next couple of months we'll be training 100+ students at YWAM Bases in Hawaii and West Africa, going to locations around the world for their outreaches. Thanks so much to everyone who is partnering with us in this journey!!!

After seeing the water crisis in Haiti last year, we've started incorporating some water technology training into our Missions Training Schools. To our surprise and excitement, so far in 2011, our teams have built Rain Catchment Tanks, Bio-Sand Filters and Water Pumps in Togo (West Africa), Rwanda, Cambodia and Haiti. In total, this has provided more than 5000 people with clean drinking water.

This tank will provide clean drinking water for the whole orphanage year round. God is opening so many doors lately for us to get clean water to those without access to it. We've actually just launched a ministry called Justice Water, which we're using as a vehicle to train students to build clean water projects around the world. So exciting!! Over the next 3 months we plan to train 100+ students.

the above photo was taken a few weeks ago at our weekly campus worship gathering - 100's of students, radically in love with Jesus, fully committed to making Him known. In a little less than five weeks, this group of students will leave for outreach and we'll welcome in hundreds more for three months of missions training. Elin and I have the amazing opportunity of giving leadership to the six Discipleship Training Schools over the next few months. Our biggest challenge currently (which is actually a good one), is we have roughly 370 students accepted, but only 366 beds available on campus. The solution: we have another building going up on campus at the moment, which will be able to house an additional 100 students. Somehow, with a lot of work and prayer over the next few weeks, we plan to have this completed by arrival day. Never a dull moment.....

A picture speaks a thousand words. This picture was taken two weeks ago by Rachel from our Haiti team. In Haiti, almost half of its 9 million people, lack access to clean water. When it rains, children grab whatever they can to catch the water.

Below are photos from our Haiti team who just returned back to Kona. Their main objective while there, was to train the local YWAM staff in life saving "clean water" technologies. We were very blessed to see the effectiveness of the team’s time there and the multiplication of this simple technology. We have raise funds for several more water projects, which the Haitian YWAM staff and students will be completing over the coming months.
